International Mountian Leader

I have been using the outdoors for exercise and enjoyment since I was a teenager. Venture scouting led into an adulthood of extensive travel, walking and other adventures.

After a first lifetime of teaching chemistry to intermittently interested teenagers I felt that a change of direction was called for. I qualified as a Summer Mountain Leader in 2014 and as an International Mountain Leader in 2018.

I now work for companies such as Exodus and Ramblers Walking holidays, as well as running Ads Ventures, a small, but perfectly formed company offering small group and bespoke walking holidays and short breaks as well as navigation training.

As a leader I am relaxed, friendly and infectiously enthusiastic, always conscious of safety, but above all I never forget that you are on holiday, and that holidays are for enjoyment and fun!
